Job Description

NOTE: This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area. You must be willing to work in the office at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 4 days/week to be considered for this position.

As the Manager of Technical Design, you will support a team of technical designers ranging from Senior to Assistant level. You and your team are responsible for ensuring fit integrity of a division of Nordstrom's private brands (Women’s, Men’s, or Kids) through fit consistency and construction. This position reports to the Director of Technical Design and is based in our Seattle headquarters.

A day in the life…

Manage the development and maintenance of size and fit standards, grade rules, and tolerances.

Partner with resources to develop and maintain spec packs, blocks, and patterns.

Develop and manage calendars to meet product delivery requirements.

Train factories on brand standards and ensure compliance in production.

Ensure final product fit meets brand requirements.

Research and resolve issues, taking corrective actions to prevent future problems.

Hire and supervise an effective team skilled in design interpretation and functional needs.

Coach team through performance feedback, goal-setting, and development plans.

You own this if you have…

7+ years of Apparel Technical Design experience; Pattern Engineering preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

2+ years in a leadership role mentoring teams with strong business acumen.

Advanced knowledge of fit, grade rules, block creation, and pattern making.

Knowledge of 3D (Browzwear, Clo), PLM, Excel, Illustrator, Photoshop, Gerber.

Problem-solving skills, flexibility, and adaptability.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Pay Range Details $103,500.00 - $175,000.00 annually, dependent on location, skills, and experience. The position may be eligible for performance bonuses, with benefits like 401k, insurance options, PTO, holidays, and more. For details, visit:
