Position Overview The Employee Relations Manager will serve as a key member of the Human Resources team, responsible for overseeing and enhancing employee relations across the firm and its portfolio companies. This role ensures alignment with the firm’s values and regulatory requirements while fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to navigate complex employment issues with discretion and professionalism in a fast-paced financial services environment. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters across the firm, including conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and performance management. Conduct internal investigations related to employee complaints, misconduct, or workplace issues; document findings and recommend appropriate actions. Partner with legal counsel as needed to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations (e.g., EEO, FMLA, ADA). Coach and advise managers on handling sensitive HR matters, disciplinary processes, and employee engagement. Assist in the development, communication, and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Monitor workplace culture and proactively identify trends or areas of concern through surveys, exit interviews, and direct employee feedback. Collaborate with portfolio company HR leaders to promote consistent employee relations practices across the investment portfolio. Maintain accurate records and reporting of employee relations cases using appropriate systems/tools. Support the firm's diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives by advising on equitable practices and policies. Lead or contribute to special HR projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field (Master’s degree or HR certification a plus). 5+ years of employee relations or HR experience, preferably in financial services, private equity, or a similarly fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws and regulations. Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and resolving complex employee issues. Exceptional communication, mediation, and conflict-resolution skills. Proven ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. High level of emotional intelligence, discretion, and sound judgment. Ability to thrive in a high-performance culture with multiple stakeholders. Preferred Experience Experience working in or with private equity firms or portfolio companies. Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR/SPHR.
