Senior Level Civil Designer
with a background in photovoltaic (PV) solar and battery energy storage projects. Responsibilities include designing, planning, and overseeing civil and site development for solar energy projects, supporting engineering, procurement, and construction delivery (EPC). Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with engineering, construction, and permitting teams to optimize site layouts and ensure regulatory compliance. Conduct topographical analysis, earthwork calculations, and drainage studies. Review civil engineering drawings, reports, and permit applications. Use AutoCAD Civil 3D, PV Case, and other software for engineering drawings. Respond to contractor and client submittals and RFI requests. Coordinate with geotechnical, structural, and electrical teams, and manage CAD files and design compliance with authorities. Assist with quantity takeoffs and bid tabulations. Minimum Job Requirements: Associate's or Bachelor's in CAD, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field. 10+ years civil design experience, especially in renewable energy or utility-scale solar. Experience in civil CAD design, construction plans, and project documentation. Knowledge of zoning, topography, geotechnical data sources. Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, GIS tools. Some travel/field work may be required. Additional Requirements include creating surfaces, understanding grading, drainage, stormwater, permitting, and collaborating with EPC contractors and agencies. Strong organizational skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office, hydraulic software, Google Earth, Bluebeam Revu, PV layout software, and battery storage design are preferred. Note: Job description subject to change. Physical Requirements: Occasional stooping, kneeling, bending. Ability to lift, push, pull objects up to 50 lbs. Sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
