We are seeking an experienced
Senior Plumbing-Fire Protection Engineer
to join our team in
Chicago, IL . As a global leader in consulting, engineering, and commissioning services, we specialize in MEP, information and communication technology, architectural lighting, vertical transportation, and commissioning. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on landmark projects worldwide. Responsibilities
Perform design engineering and provide system design support, collaborating with all MEP disciplines for well-coordinated designs. Consult and interface with clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and authorities. Conduct field surveys, system assessments, and system commissioning. Attend coordination meetings and job sites. Perform calculations under supervision. Create clear, concise drawings that meet client and firm standards. Apply relevant codes and standards to all designs. Conduct peer reviews and oversee QA/QC processes. Interpret applicable codes. Assist in business development by expanding client relationships and attending industry events. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. 8-10 years of field experience in Fire Protection and Fire Alarm System design. At least 3 years of supervisory experience. Knowledge of ICC, NFPA, and local codes, including NYC codes. NICET certification in Fire Alarm or Fire Protection systems preferred or obtainable within 2 years. Current P.E. license or Fire Protection, CPD, Med Gas certifications are a plus. Multistate licensure preferred or obtainable within 2-4 years. Ability to obtain security clearance for federal projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD-MEP and REVIT. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Benefits
