Honegger Animal Clinic is looking for an experienced Veterinarian to lead our team as a Managing Veterinarian (Medical Director)!

We’re excited to offer $150,000 in sign-on incentives for a full-time Veterinarian. You can customize these incentives to best suit your needs, whether that’s through a sign-on bonus, retention bonus, relocation assistance, student loan support, buy-in for

Job Summary Honegger\nAnimal Clinic is a well-established small animal veterinary hospital located 15\nminutes south of Fort Wayne, IN. We have been in business for 45 years and\npride ourselves on a family-oriented, collaborative clinic. The culture of our clinic is based on\nexcellent patient care and great client communication. We use a team approach\nwith our staff consisting of 1 veterinarian, 4 registered technicians, 2\nreceptionists, and a hospital manager. We understand how important work/life\nbalance is while still caring for our patients, which is why there is no evening call! Our local emergency clinic (NIVES) handles all evening and weekend calls.

We’re\nlooking for a small animal veterinarian with experience in surgery/dentistry. We are also open to large animal veterinarians - we'd love to expand in this space with the right individual leading the way! For\ncandidates interested in ownership, we’re offering a 10% buy-in\nopportunity for the right candidate. Once integrated with the practice and\ncommunity, you would then smoothly transition to the JV

Partner/Managing\nVeterinarian.

The\nManaging Veterinarian is responsible for creating an environment of\nteamwork in which quality medicine and exceptional client service are\nconsistently delivered. The

partners with the Hospital Manager (Field/Divisional leadership\nteam) to drive financial performance and general operations of the hospital and\nto more broadly cultivate a supportive and collaborative team environment. This\nhospital-level team is supported by their Divisional Leadership who\nprovides practice management training, reporting, and ongoing resources to\ndevelop a best-in-class hospital. The hospital is one of many that report to\nthis division, so the Managing Veterinarian can expect to network with and\nlearn from peers in similar roles in veterinary clinics nearby.

Duties and Responsibilities Advancing Medical Care Establishes\nmedical

protocols and provides appropriate training to associate doctors. Oversees\nsurgical and medical cases for all doctors, ensuring positive

outcomes,\naccurate

estimates, and client communication and education. Answers\nclient questions and concerns regarding medical and surgical procedures. Provides\noversight

and direction of medical standards and quality of care. Minimizes\nwaste and controls costs relating to medical supplies, surgical instruments,\nand drug inventories.

Leading Staff and Practice Participates\nin the recruiting and interviewing process for associate doctors and, when\nappropriate, general staff members. Monitors\nassociate

doctor performance and production. Provides\nmentorship,

feedback, and guidance to associate doctors both in the moment and via\nthe structured annual review process. Develops and\nmonitors hospital-specific client compliance protocols and procedures. Participates\nin technician appraisal and medical counseling sessions. Ensures all\nmedical staff receive applicable training, including the mentoring of new\ngraduates. Supports the\nHospital Manager with staff training programs and tracking CE and DVM\nlicensure.

Financial Responsibilities Drives\nrevenue and hospital contribution growth. Assists associate doctors in\nachieving agreed-upon production levels by providing clear guidance for the\nappropriate level of medicine and compliance by our clients. Manages appropriate medical expenses; ensures pricing is appropriate and that all\nclients are charged for the services they receive. Assists in\nthe preparation of an annual planning strategy, operating budget, and capital\nbudget. Monitors,\nunderstands,

and acts upon key financial reports. As JV you\nwill share in the expenses and profits of the hospital. You will invest in the hospital by driving performance, sharing, and earning additional compensation in ownership.

Growing the Practice Maintains\nand builds the reputation of the clinic in the community; encourages positive\nongoing community involvement. Embraces\nchange and supports innovative programs within the hospital. Monitors\nclient service, marketing, and NVA growth initiatives. Seeks out\nways to innovate operational practices that improve the growth of the practice. Understands\nthe need and opportunity to add doctors to the practice when necessary.

Skills and Basic Qualifications Candidate must be a graduate of an AVMA-accredited college or have successfully passed the ECFVG certification program or the PAVE certification program. Licensure in\ngood standing to practice in Indiana. Leads\nemployees by coaching, correcting, developing, and motivating them to achieve\nsuccess. Engages with\nNVA leadership effectively in order to drive outcomes at the clinic level. Models a\nprofessional and courteous manner with staff and clients. Previous\nownership

experience is a plus.
