This position involves collaborating with clients, architects, and contractors to create cohesive, visually appealing, and practical interior and exterior designs. The designer will be responsible for selecting materials, fixtures, and finishes that align with client preferences and project budgets while maintaining high standards of quality and innovation. Key Responsibilities
Material and Finish Selection : Choose tiles, flooring, wall treatments, and other materials that enhance the aesthetic of home interiors and exteriors. Fixture Selection : Specify plumbing fixtures (e.g., faucets, sinks, showers) and electrical fixtures (e.g., lighting, outlets) that balance functionality, style, and energy efficiency. Color Schemes : Develop interior and exterior color palettes that align with current design trends. Cabinet Design : Design or select custom or semi-custom cabinetry for kitchens, bathrooms, and other spaces, ensuring optimal storage and aesthetic appeal. Appliance Selection : Recommend appliances that budget constraints and complementing the overall design. Trim and Detailing : Specify trim designs, moldings, and other architectural details to enhance the home’s character and craftsmanship. Project Coordination : Partner with architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless integration of design elements into the construction process. Budget and Timeline Management : Adhere to project budgets and timelines, sourcing cost-effective materials and coordinating timely delivery. Trend Awareness : Stay updated on interior design trends, materials, and technologies to offer innovative solutions to clients. Documentation : Create detailed design plans, mood boards, and specifications to communicate designs to clients and project teams. Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred. Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in interior design, preferably in residential construction or custom home projects. Skills : Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar). Strong knowledge of residential construction materials, fixtures, and appliances. Excellent sense of color, texture, and spatial design. Ability to interpret architectural plans and specifications. Strong communication and presentation skills to engage with clients and project teams. Detail-oriented with excellent project management and organizational skills.
