Under limited supervision, the Shelter Advocate ensures the smooth operation of emergency services by welcoming and registering residents, assigning sleeping quarters, and ensuring forms are completed. Provides information about UGMTC programs, policies, and behavioral expectations. Minimum Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience In-person customer service experience Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, or addiction 6 months experience in social or human services Responsibilities

Follow established processes and procedures in line with UGMTC’s mission, values, and policies. Engage residents with respect and dignity, providing excellent service. Handle fees and documentation accurately. Maintain knowledge of programs and resident situations. Answer calls professionally and respond to inquiries. Support Christian values and ethics. Monitor environment for safety and behavior policies. Respond to health and safety issues. Perform inspections and implement conflict resolution strategies. Collaborate with security and report residential behavior. Participate in meetings, training, and activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Certifications

Support UGMTC’s Christian faith statement. Strong customer service and communication skills. Integrity in handling money and confidentiality. Conflict resolution skills. Organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CaseWorthy, and other software. Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods. Work in environments serving individuals in various states of dress. Physical activities including lifting, walking, and reaching. Benefits
