Working independently, exercising good judgment and discretion in executing and assisting in the development of valuable connections within Club Sports. This person will work to establish external relationships that will benefit Club Sports in their efforts through Alumni and Donor Relations. Additionally, they will be required to work closely with internal staff to identify key areas that require additional support and oversight. The qualified candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and organization of practices and competitions for the competitive dance team. She/He is able to understand and adhere to the Club Sports policies and procedures while attending department meetings and training sessions as needed. The head coach is also responsible for overseeing and leading any assistant coaches.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Work in conjunction with Development to cultivate key donor relationships for teams and department.
Support leadership on internal and external communications for development efforts. Organize and execute internal & external meetings with key stakeholders.
Support and grow Alumni connection and celebration efforts.
Develop and launch a quarterly alumni newsletter & distribute to known alumni & highlight achievements. Support leadership with any alumni development efforts.
Support Club Sport Special Event leadership needs.
Serve as point of contact/leadership as needed during special events: graduation; alumni events; development activities.
Provide additional leadership support at specified events Coach Competitive Dance Team
Plan, organize, schedule, and implement team practices and competitions for each season. Coordinate team travel needs for away competitions. Oversee team budget and order equipment and apparel. Track academic progress for student-athletes. Complete necessary league eligibility forms, rosters, and coaching materials.
Other assigned duties from Athletic Directors Work as part of Club Sports team and individual
Work to enhance the Club Sports programs and uphold the mission and values of Club Sports. Work in office setting and in events spaces. Have a flexible attitude and independent work ethic in order to work as a team and individual.

Qualifications And Credentials
Education and Experience
Four-year college degree, with a concentration in Social Work, Pastoral Counseling, or Counseling degree. Strong experience in relationship development with knowledge of a variety of sports teams’ functional requirements. 3+ years in a competitive dance coaching position at the high school or collegiate level. Ability to create and teach original choreography without the need for outsourcing. The ability to work independently and collaboratively as a goal-oriented strategic thinker. Passion and motivation to recruit student-athletes. Current with all required UDA certifications and/or license is required as well as SafeSport. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
Well-developed communication skills both verbal and written.

Physical and Sensory Abilities
Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations. Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard and required to stand for extended periods to perform coaching duties. Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building. Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business. Regularly lift 20 or fewer pounds.

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.
Driving Requirements
An approved LU Driver: Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
