The School of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences, in partnership with the RCMI Center for Urban Health Disparities Research and Innovation at Morgan State University (RCMI@Morgan), invites applications for a 9.5-month tenure-track or tenured faculty position at the associate or full professor level. This full-time appointment will commence in August 2025. We seek an accomplished biomedical scientist with a proven track record in grantsmanship and expertise in biomedical and health disparities research. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing RCMI@Morgan’s research ecosystem, mentoring early-career investigators, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the Center. Job Duties
Establish an externally funded and productive biomedical research program with an emphasis on health disparities Coordinate the mentoring network and mentor early-stage investigators (junior faculty and post-doctoral research fellows) to facilitate their transition to biomedical research independence Participate in biomedical research networking and team science, professional development workshops, and other strategic activities designed to enhance the biomedical research ecosystem of RCMI@Morgan Provide research training and mentor students, and post-doctoral fellows working in his/her biomedical research laboratory Teach graduate courses in biomedical science-related areas Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics
A strong record of extramural funding, peer-reviewed publications, and successful mentorship of graduate students Independent research grants such as DOD, NIH, and equivalent, including currently active grant funding Excellent expertise in basic biomedical and/or clinical research on health disparity diseases Strong interest and experience in mentoring ESIs including junior faculty and postdoctoral research fellows Required Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent from an accredited institution. Other Preferences for Consideration
