The AVP of Brand, Creative and Content leads the strategy, development, and stewardship of Ascension’s brand across all markets. This senior role is responsible for defining a compelling brand identity, overseeing integrated creative campaigns, and ensuring consistent and meaningful brand expression across platforms and audiences. This leader will inspire a high-performing creative team and ensure brand initiatives support both mission and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead Ascension’s enterprise-wide brand strategy, voice, and visual identity Serve as brand steward across national and local markets, balancing consistency with regional relevance Direct development of integrated, multi-channel campaigns that enhance brand equity and drive engagement Oversee creation of content and creative assets that reflect Ascension’s mission, values, and priorities Collaborate across marketing, communications, digital, and customer experience teams to deliver cohesive brand experiences Guide use of digital, traditional, and emerging channels to maintain a modern and relevant brand presence Ensure brand alignment in advertising, social media, internal communications, and environmental branding Implement processes to measure brand health and campaign effectiveness; use insights to inform strategy Lead and develop a team of designers, writers, and producers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence Manage relationships with external agencies, creative partners, and vendors Oversee creative operations, workflows, and budget to ensure quality, efficiency, and strategic alignment

Requirements

Education:

Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 4 of those years being in leadership/management.

Additional Preferences

Master’s degree preferred 10+ years of progressive experience in brand management, creative strategy, or marketing leadership Strong portfolio of creative campaigns and brand initiatives in large or complex organizations Proven ability to connect brand strategy to business and growth objectives Deep knowledge of integrated marketing channels and content development Experience leading creative teams and managing internal resources alongside agency partners Understanding of healthcare industry or other mission-driven organizations a plus Skilled communicator and presenter with executive presence Strong judgment, adaptability, and ability to drive innovation in a fast-paced environment
