Our client is seeking an experienced HR leader to serve as a trusted partner to executive and departmental leaders. This role plays a central part in aligning HR practices with operational goals, supporting workforce planning, compliance, performance management, and organizational development. The Senior HR Manager works in close partnership with the HR Director to deliver key people initiatives that drive business success.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with company leaders to execute HR strategies that support organizational growth and employee engagement.
Act as a strategic advisor to department heads and senior leadership, helping navigate complex personnel matters and aligning people plans with business outcomes.
Lead initiatives that promote a safe, compliant, and healthy workplace, including risk assessments, incident investigations, safety training, and EHS reporting.
Drive the resolution of employee relations concerns and provide expert guidance on issues such as disciplinary action, conflict resolution, and workplace policies.
Guide managers through performance-related challenges and support implementation of improvement plans or transitions as necessary.
Interpret and apply employment law to reduce risk and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
Support collective bargaining efforts, contract negotiations, and grievance resolution where applicable.
Oversee talent strategy, including workforce assessments, succession planning, and talent acquisition efforts.
Identify skill gaps and coordinate the development of training programs for managers, staff, and new hires.
Manage team workflows, timelines, and staffing plans for departmental objectives and major HR projects.
Provide leadership or participate in strategic business changes such as mergers, acquisitions, or site restructuring.
Work closely with other HR specialists and cross-functional teams to address evolving business priorities.
Champion a culture of safety and compliance across all operations by modeling and enforcing safe behaviors.
Candidate Profile:
Education:
Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred, particularly in Human Resources or related field. Experience:
At least 10 years of progressively responsible HR experience; prior work in industrial or construction environments is an advantage. Technical Expertise:
Strong background in HR disciplines including employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, and compliance. Systems Skills:
Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); SAP or similar HRIS familiarity preferred. Travel:
Willingness to travel approximately 10% as needed. Additional Requirements: Deep understanding of employment laws and compliance requirements. Ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of staff. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Must comply with company safety procedures and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). For roles involving respirator use, candidates must be clean-shaven in areas where the mask seals to the face.
