They tackle a variety of challenges, from installing and maintaining equipment to troubleshooting complex problems and executing preventive maintenance plans.

Position Specifics: Location:

Charter Steel: 1658 Cold Springs Rd. Saukville, WI 53080

Shift:

This position follows our

5-2-2-5 rotating night shift

schedule. You’ll work

five nights on, five nights off, two nights on, two nights off —giving you a great work-life balance with regular extended breaks. Shifts are

12 hours , starting at

4:30 PM and ending at 4:30 AM . It’s a consistent, predictable rotation that gives you built-in time off without using PTO.

What you'll do: Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and maintain

a wide range of mechanical systems to keep operations running smoothly

Perform

preventative maintenance (PMs)

and

equipment calibrations

to optimize performance and reliability

Work hands-on with

hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and power transmission systems

Safely operate and maintain

industrial tools

and

mobile equipment

including cranes and forklifts

Partner with

Electrical Maintenance Technicians

to tackle cross-functional maintenance tasks

Always prioritize

safety

by strictly adhering to protocols such as

lockout/tagout ,

fall protection , and

confined space entry procedures

What you will bring: High school diploma or GED

(Don’t have one? We’ve got you covered with our

GEDWorks program.)

3+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience

Strong skills in:

Machining and welding

Hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, and plumbing

Power transmission systems , including bearings, gearing, conveyors, fans, shaft alignment, sprockets, and coupling.

Experience with

overhead crane troubleshooting and repair

Proficient in

rigging and lifting procedures

Skilled in using

precision measuring tools

such as micrometers and calipers

A true

team player

with strong

problem-solving abilities

Nice to haves: Journeyman Certification

or completion of a

formal apprenticeship program

Hands-on experience with

SMAW, MIG, and/or TIG welding

Previous work experience in the

steel or heavy manufacturing industry

Fabrication skills

and a basic understanding of

electrical systems

Up-to-date

safety certifications

and a strong awareness of industry-standard safety practices

Physical Demands & Work Environment : Regular standing, walking, lifting (up to 100lbs), and use of hand tools

Exposure to heat, cold, grease, and working at elevated heights.
