Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized
Finance Assistant
to support the financial operations of our industrial construction company. The ideal candidate will assist in daily accounting tasks, invoice processing, budget tracking, and financial reporting to ensure smooth and compliant financial management.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities: Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice entry, vendor payments, and client billing. Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts. Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for auditing purposes. Support payroll processing and job cost tracking in coordination with HR and project managers. Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Monitor project budgets and assist with variance analysis. Process employee expense reports and credit card reconciliations. Assist with preparing documentation for financial audits and compliance reporting. Communicate with vendors and subcontractors regarding payment and billing inquiries. Provide administrative support to the Finance Manager and assist in implementing process improvements. Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of finance or accounting experience, preferably in the construction or industrial sector. Familiarity with job costing and construction accounting principles (e.g., AIA billing, WIP schedules). Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300, Viewpoint, or similar). Strong Excel skills and knowledge of financial formulas, pivot tables, and charts. High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Skills:
Experience with ERP systems and construction management software. Understanding of lien waivers, retainage, and contract billing. Knowledge of union payroll or certified payroll reporting is a plus.
