This position assists the Medical Administrative Coordinator (RN) on personal and community health issues for the Sooner Job Challenge students. This position will perform technical direct and indirect nursing care to students under the supervision and direction of the Medical Admin Coord to include taking temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure and various other technical nursing tasks in providing health care to the students. Essential Functions: Assist in providing medical services to students in accordance with knowledge, skills, and licensure. Conduct daily sick call and determine treatment plans. Assist in coordinating medical care for students, including office visits, hospital (ER visits), pharmaceutical needs, medical equipment, and other services. Transport students to ER, medical appointments or other activities as necessary. Assist with follow-up care for medical, dental, vision, and related health issues. Order, pack and dispense medications accurately. Coordinate medication refills. Reports appropriate patient information to supervisor. Assist in assessing, reporting and recording health status of students and maintaining student medical records. Translate technical information as needed to individuals of varied technical levels. Develop and maintain a professional rapport with parents, medical providers, students, and other Job Challenge staff. Provide education to students on health-related topics as necessary. Assist in tracking and maintaining inventories of medical supplies. Required to participate in weekend call rotation. Attend meetings and trainings as required to maintain certifications and license and as directed by the requirements of the state and program. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, practices, and theory; of medical terminology; and of infection control measures. Ability is required to exercise sound judgement, to follow detailed oral or written instructions; and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other. Ability to handle confidential information. Internet and computer skills for program database entry. Education and Experience:

Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing or, Licensed Practical Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Licenses/Certificates:

Valid permanent Oklahoma Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License and a valid Oklahoma Driver's License. Benefits:
