ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ADMISSION/REGIONAL OFFICER – LOS ANGELES.

Position Summary

As a member of the Office of Admissions and reporting to the Senior Director of Admissions Partnerships, the Assistant Director of Admission/Regional Officer – Los Angeles will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective first-time, transfer, and international students in the greater Los Angeles area. This role supports students throughout the admissions process, providing guidance on our academic programs and campus culture at Columbia College.

Based in Los Angeles, CA, this role will lead recruitment efforts across assigned territories, including national and international markets, and will play an essential role in meeting departmental enrollment goals. The Admission Officer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to implement outreach strategies designed to attract and enroll a diverse student body. This includes managing local events, executing marketing initiatives, and counseling prospective students and their families.

Duties & Responsibilities

Serve as Columbia College’s primary admissions representative for the Los Angeles, California region, focused on recruiting high school seniors, recent graduates, and transferring students with fewer than 12 college credits. Manage a designated recruitment territory, including Los Angeles and other assigned regions (domestic and international). Attend and represent Columbia College at high school visits, college fairs, community-based organization events, and other outreach activities throughout the LA area. Provide information sessions to students, families, and high school counselors about Columbia College’s mission, academic offerings, student life, admissions process, and financial aid opportunities. Maintain frequent and meaningful communication with prospective students and key influencers (parents, counselors, etc.) through phone, email, text, and in-person interactions. Meet or exceed assigned annual enrollment targets. Coordinate individual and group campus visits, both virtually and in-person, including involvement from faculty and current students. Support the planning and execution of local and national recruitment and yield events, both on- and off-campus. Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of all undergraduate programs and extracurricular opportunities offered by Columbia College. Prioritize outreach efforts using the Slate CRM system to identify, cultivate, and engage high-potential applicants. Review admission applications and manage applicant files to ensure completion and facilitate admission decisions. Collaborate with the Financial Aid Office to support families in completing aid packages and understanding financial options. Represent Columbia College at Los Angeles community events, including school district-sponsored programs and other public forums (public speaking required). Stay informed on Columbia College graduate programs and assist with graduate recruitment as needed. Contribute to departmental planning, strategy development, and goal-setting initiatives. Monitor and adhere to departmental budget guidelines. Comply with Columbia College policies and procedures. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required Bachelor's degree preferred. One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have strong computer skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Valid Driver's License without restrictions required. Demonstrate courtesy and respect in interactions with internal and external constituents (prospective students, parents). Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals. Ability to draft reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from prospective students, parents, high school counselors, and members of the campus or business community. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to work weekends, extended workdays, and/or overnight travel, as required.

Position Minimum Hourly Rate or Annual Salary: $68,640.00

Position Maximum Hourly Rate or Annual Salary:

$82,368.00

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including department budget.
