MetaPhase is seeking a
Database Administrator (DBA)
to support the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in its Financial Systems Modernization (FSM) efforts. This role is responsible for managing and securing enterprise database systems across Oracle, Microsoft, and PostgreSQL platforms, ensuring performance, integrity, and compliance with DHS enterprise architecture standards. The DBA will support complex data migration, modeling, and integration activities using AWS-hosted environments, embedding security best practices aligned with federal cybersecurity frameworks.
Responsibilities include:
Design, implement, secure, and maintain robust database solutions supporting the FSM program.
Oversee database architecture for data warehousing, ETL, and migration from legacy systems.
Manage day-to-day operations of AWS RDS, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL environments.
Ensure database security and compliance with FISMA, NIST 800-53 standards.
Utilize Informatica IICS, PowerCenter, and IDQ tools for data integration and migration.
Develop and optimize SQL queries, APIs, and WebADIs for performance.
Implement backup, recovery, and high availability strategies.
Collaborate with security teams to align with DHS policies.
Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and mitigate risks.
Support audits and maintain cybersecurity compliance documentation.
Minimum qualifications:
5+ years experience in data modeling, warehousing, and migration activities.
5+ years experience with AWS RDS.
5+ years working with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
5+ years SQL development experience with WebADIs and APIs.
U.S. Citizenship is required; DHS Suitability preferred or ability to obtain.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with DHS data modernization or ERP projects.
Familiarity with Informatica IICS, PowerCenter, and IDQ.
Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA data landscapes and cybersecurity roles.
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, AWS Certified Database Specialty.
Work setup:
Hybrid remote with occasional travel.
Clearance & Education:
Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT Management, or related field.
Compensation: Estimated range: $100,000 - $125,000 in the U.S.
