Collaborates on sustainable project design and delivery for clients, completing assignments with originality and ingenuity. Contributes to delivering sustainable project and design solutions, and elevates high-performance knowledge at HKS. Responsibilities Engages project teams as the visible “go-to” for sustainability, delivering strategic improvements, assisting with staff promotion, and identifying business opportunities. Creates annual ESG objectives, key results, and actions with the team. Participates in project processes and workshops, including research and sustainable goal setting. Delivers project certifications for third-party rating systems, applying best practices. Coordinates technical needs with engineering staff. Prepares proposals and project documentation. Supports ESG and design objectives across offices. Provides feedback on data systems and conducts research activities. Prepares and presents client design concepts, maintaining communication and guidance throughout projects. Supports risk management and participates in team meetings and site visits. Travel may be required. Qualifications Accredited degree in Architecture, Engineering, Sustainable Design, or related field; advanced degree preferred. Professional licensure preferred. Typically 5+ years of experience. Sustainable design accreditation required. Experience in integrative design, systems thinking, and energy modeling tools. Knowledge of sustainability standards, building codes, and high-performance building standards. Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills.
