The Storage Technology and Product Group (STPG) is focused on advancing non-volatile memory technologies. Our mission is to drive innovation and develop innovative solutions that enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of non-volatile memory products.
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and strategic Senior Manager, SSD Product Validation Engineering to lead validation efforts across multiple SSD programs. This role involves defining and implementing validation strategies, managing multi-functional teams, and ensuring alignment with product and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in SSD architecture and validation, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for quality and innovation.
Responsibilities
Validation Strategy & Execution
Define and drive comprehensive validation strategies across SSD programs. Recommend new validation approaches that drive better coverage, more accurate testing, and expanded testing services Identify and drive resolution on all test gaps identified in development and customer qualification Ensure alignment with OEM system requirements, customer use cases, and internal quality metrics. Foster continuous improvement in test methodologies, automation frameworks, and lab infrastructure.
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor a team of validation engineers and managers. Set strategic direction, establish goals, and conduct performance evaluations. Support career development through coaching, training, and succession planning.
Multi-Functional Collaboration
Communicate with TPMs, Firmware, Hardware, and Business Unit stakeholders. Coordinate validation deliverables to meet program milestones. Provide real-time updates on validation progress, defect status, and risk mitigation.
Defect & Risk Management
Monitor defect activity and ensure timely triage and resolution. Conduct periodic reviews of validation KPIs and risk indicators.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. 8 - 10+ years of experience in SSD validation or test development. Proven leadership experience in managing technical teams and multi-functional collaboration. Deep understanding of SSD architecture, NVMe/PCIe protocols, and validation frameworks (e.g., PVE, FTE, CVE). Experience with automation tools, JIRA, Confluence, and lab infrastructure. Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation, and partnership skills Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing environment with shifting demands Experience with Agile product development processes and project management Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with enterprise SSD programs and customer-facing validation. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and test automation.
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$170,500.00 - $298,500.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
