The Business Analyst (BA) will work under the direction of the Director, Business Analytics, supporting the Publications Division in revenue generation, expense reduction, and operational efficiency activities. The BA will also develop and expand the Division's enterprise data needs, including data analysis around pricing, customer behaviors, and account performance. Additionally, this position will provide analysis and modeling of business data to assist stakeholders in making informed decisions and identifying opportunities. We seek a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst with strong financial acumen and hands-on experience in data visualization tools to join our team.
Primary duties will include:
Developing and maintaining dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense, or Looker. Analyzing financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Collaborating with finance, operations, and executive teams to define KPIs and reporting needs. Validating and analyzing business data to support senior management decisions. Testing for proper controls. Responding to ad-hoc data or informational requests. Compiling weekly/monthly management reports. Tracking, evaluating results, and interpreting data into clear reports. Performing data validation and improving processes to ensure data integrity. Translating business requirements into technical specifications for data models and visualizations.
Skills:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, analytics, finance, or related field; M.B.A. or advanced degree in Data Analytics preferred. Strong business acumen in finance, operations, sales, and marketing. Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker, Qlik Sense, Tableau). Excellent communication, interpersonal, data storytelling, and project leadership skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and ability to learn new systems. Self-confident with minimal supervision. Quick learner, resourceful, and self-motivated. Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment. Effective at various organizational levels. Qualifications:
