Job Summary
Responsible for service line growth within the Memorial Hermann System and improvement of EMS relationships within assigned market and enhancing collaboration across all care settings within Memorial Hermann facilities, as it relates to EMS and public safety relations. Responsible for enhancing existing lines of business (across multiple service lines) by establishing relationships with multi-disciplinary teams internally throughout the system and externally with local and regional agencies. Reports to the Vice President, Trauma Services Line.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
One of the following is required:
EMT certification by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician
EMT certification by the Texas Department of State Health Services
EMT-P by the Texas Department of State Health Services
Licensed Paramedic by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician
Licensed Paramedic by the Texas Department of State Health Services
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Minimum five (5) years of recent EMS experience. Effective oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. Strong organizational skills to include metrics management, independent scheduling and record tracking. Ability to maintain a mature, professional manner and demonstrate sound judgement when interacting with patients, physicians, hospital personnel, and the public. Ability to lead and implement change. Ability to interpret and analyze data and identify customer needs in order to build strategic plans. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Principle Accountabilities
Responsible for ensuring collaboration across all care settings within the facility as it relates to EMS and public safety relations. Develops, monitors, and directs system-wide initiatives in an assigned key service line ensuring the highest quality care is delivered; identifies needs of participating facilities and service line initiatives and provides for accordingly; recognizes achievements and accomplishments and provides ongoing feedback on performance. Analyzes and establishes business strategy driving service line growth, adhering to system and facility strategic goals; develops strategic business plans and performs operation analysis; stays up to date on new developments in the field and incorporates such in the scope of services; reviews system policies, procedures, and systems. Acts as an administrator between the health system/market/hospital and area Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers. Serves as an advocate of the hospital with local, regional, and state EMS agencies. Demonstrate leadership by supporting the medical staff in the service area to achieve growth initiatives, quality outcomes, operational improvements, and patient satisfaction. Strategically plans, implements, and participates in outreach efforts designed to improve relationships within the healthcare community in designated service areas or market. Oversees project management for improvement of EMS related process changes for the Memorial Hermann System. Collaborates with facility Emergency Preparedness teams and provides education and training to ED staff regarding Disaster Preparedness/NIMS training. Serves as a member of the Stroke/MI/Sepsis Committee and participates in providing education to EMS providers as well as the community. Provides reports and statistics to hospital leadership concerning EMS issues. Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff. Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues. Other duties as assigned.
