The Manager, Application Development will be responsible for facilitating and directing the design, development, and maintenance of platform services technology and functions to ensure IT foundational and modernization goals are met. Specifically, the Manager will oversee DevOps and cloud-based initiatives. This leader provides both tactical and strategic direction for the Platform Engineering team in collaboration with Product, Application Development, Infrastructure, and Operations. Responsibilities include defining project scope, developing work plans, managing budgets, determining staffing needs, and establishing quality assurance checkpoints. The role emphasizes increasing efficiency, reducing duplication, and promoting technology reuse. The manager reviews and resolves complex problems involving multiple teams or systems, influences decision-making in technical and product roadmaps, and advocates for modernization and emerging technologies. They facilitate DevOps collaboration across teams, prepare strategic plans, and ensure enterprise adoption of new technologies. The role requires leadership in innovation, team empowerment, and high-performance delivery. In addition, the manager collaborates with vendors to implement third-party services and adheres to data security standards, utilizing monitoring tools like Datadog to optimize performance.
