Position: Enterprise Architect
Scope of Responsibilities
Provides design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy and updates the enterprise’s architecture to effectively support the business strategy. Develops enterprise level application and custom integration solutions, including major enhancements and interfaces, functions, and features. Uses a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications to
customers. Provides expertise regarding the integration of applications across the
business. Determines specifications, then plans, designs, and develops complex and business- critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes - individually or in concert with the project team. Develop programming and development standards, procedures, and programming architectures for code reuse. Possesses in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art programming languages and object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing, and debugging programs. Understands and consistently applies the attributes and processes of current application development
methodologies. Researches and maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and applications to the
business. Establishes and implements standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions, including architecting and implementing solutions requiring the integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the Department. Serves as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple
disciplines. Reviews, advises, and designs standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, costs vs. benefits, and impact on the enterprise business process and goals for the toll collection system or other Department business systems. Develops and documents the framework for integration and implementation of changes to technical standards Acts as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change
agent.
Experience
A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in multiple IT areas and 2–3 years of relevant architecture experience in tolling, Intelligent Transportation Systems or transit
architecture. Requires advanced to expert-level knowledge and understanding of architecture, applications systems design, and integration. Desired
Experience
Proficient in Oracle PL/SQL development with expertise in advanced features like packages, cursors, triggers, and collections Strong understanding of database concepts including data modeling, normalization, and optimization techniques Experience with SQL query writing and performance
tuning Knowledge of database administration tasks like backup and recovery, user management, and security Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve database
issues Ability to work independently and as part of a
team Strong communication and documentation skills to effectively collaborate with
stakeholders Excellent code review and code analyzing skills including reviewing Test
results Actively participating in hands-on design sessions, creating detailed system architecture diagrams, and defining technical specifications for new applications and systems. Conducting thorough technical evaluations of new technologies and frameworks to identify solutions that best fit the organization's needs. Providing recommendations on technology adoption and roadmap
development
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information systems, or another related field or equivalent work experience as described below.
