Operations and Communications Specialist, Center on Poverty & Inequality - Georgetown University . Georgetown Center on Poverty & Inequality (GCPI) is a research center that generates policy solutions to improve the lives of people experiencing poverty in the United States. Collaborating with government and movement leaders, we provide timely, evidenced-based ideas to impact decision-making, increase economic well-being, and advance racial and gender equity.

Duties

The Operations and Communications Specialist helps manage the daily operation of GCPI, primarily in the areas of operations, communications, finance, purchasing, and support services. Performs a variety of complex operations, communications, and finance duties. Additional duties include but are not limited to:

Develops project plans and operations guidance, helps with executive scheduling, and tracks center activities and outputs Develops and monitors contracts and revenue generating agreements, prepares expense reports, and handles a variety of financial data Develops internal and external communications materials and updates the website Liaises with university departments, including financial affairs, procurement, general counsel, research services, centers and institutes, communications, and other departments

Work Interactions

This position reports to Deputy Executive Director, Aileen Carr. Incumbent will work closely with the Executive Director and Center’s research and policy team. This position does not supervise students or staff.

Requirements And Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and at least two years of operations, communications, and/or finance experience, plus a commitment to GCPI’s mission Experience performing a variety of complex operations duties and financial transactions Strong writing and communication skills, including the ability to synthesize and clearly express complex ideas in writing and visually, tailored for various audiences Experience with digital media and graphic and layout design (InDesign and Illustrator preferred) Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage a high volume of work with efficiency Self-driven work ethic & initiative and strong capacity for collaboration Flexibility & enthusiasm for learning Race, class, and gender equity and inclusion skills and values Working knowledge of Workday and Georgetown Management System (GMS) Knowledge of issues related to poverty and inequality, including lived experience

Pay Range

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$21.16 - $35.29

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
