The General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations in Las Vegas facilities, including the fuel terminal, bulk plants, and logistics operations. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational expertise to ensure efficient and profitable operations while upholding company’s commitment to safety, compliance, and exceptional service. The GM will manage staff, financials, and customer relationships, driving business growth and maintaining the company’s reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
•
Operational Management : Oversee all aspects of the Las Vegas fuel terminal and bulk plant operations, including fuel distribution, inventory management, and logistics coordination. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, and state/federal regulations). •
Staff Leadership : Recruit, hire, train, and manage a team of supervisors, terminal operators, drivers, and support staff. Foster a positive, inclusive work environment aligned with Interstate Oil’s values of integrity and teamwork. •
Financial Oversight : Manage budgets, P&L statements, and cost controls to ensure profitability. Monitor inventory levels, oversee accounts payable, and coordinate with the finance team to maintain accurate financial reporting. •
Customer Service & Business Development : Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, ensuring timely and accurate fuel deliveries. Collaborate with the sales team to develop new business opportunities and expand company’s wholesale distribution network. •
Safety & Compliance : Implement and enforce safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and ensure proper handling of petroleum products to minimize risks. Act as a key member of the incident command team during emergencies, such as spills or equipment failures. •
Strategic Planning : Work with senior leadership to develop and execute strategies for operational growth, including potential acquisitions and expansion of distribution capabilities. Identify opportunities to optimize supply chain efficiency and enhance service offerings. •
Administrative Duties : Complete necessary documentation, including inventory logs, maintenance records, and regulatory reports. Ensure all paperwork is accurate, organized, and readily available for audits. •
Community Engagement : Represent company in the Las Vegas community, upholding the company’s commitment to community values and environmental stewardship. Qualifications •
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. •
Experience : • Minimum of 5 years of management experience, with at least 2 years in a general manager or similar leadership role in the petroleum, logistics, or related industry. • Proven experience in financial management, strategic planning, and team leadership. • Experience in fuel distribution, terminal operations, or supply chain management is highly desirable. •
Skills : • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage diverse teams and build client relationships. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and industry-specific software (e.g., inventory or logistics management systems). • Excellent problem-solving, time management, and decision-making abilities. • Ability to analyze financial reports, interpret regulations, and present information effectively to stakeholders. •
Certifications : Valid driver’s license required. Industry-specific certifications (e.g., OSHA, HAZMAT, or fuel handling) are a plus. •
Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk for extended periods, and work in environments with exposure to petroleum products, outdoor elements, and loud noise. •
Availability : Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, including on-call duties for emergencies.
