BillionToOne . We are looking for an Automation Service Engineering Associate II to join our growing Service Engineering team in support of clinical patient testing in our high throughput CLIA lab. The Automation Service Engineering Associate II will be responsible for delivering primary service response to laboratory operations at the Billion To One - Union City location. The selected candidate will be part of a team that handles troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of laboratory equipment. The ideal candidate is skilled in providing excellent customer service, troubleshooting errors with laboratory automation equipment, and maintaining detailed records of issues and resolutions. This is an onsite position with shift hours Tuesday-Saturday, 3pm-11:30pm (+PM Shift Differential). Responsibilities include:
Working in a team responsible for service, support, and troubleshooting of automated processes and instrumentation Executing or coordinating routine maintenance of laboratory equipment Performing Installation, Operational, and Performance Qualification on equipment Troubleshooting and triaging equipment issues and involving vendors as required Drafting documentation related to equipment operation and maintenance S suggesting process improvements and designing a plan to execute them Maintaining organized equipment parts inventory and comprehensive records Executing special projects as assigned Requirements include:
Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline 1+ years of experience servicing Liquid Handlers, or 2+ years in a technical service role Familiarity with coding basics and flow control logic Understanding of clinical laboratory assays and their applications Ability to analyze and solve problems with minimal guidance Strong willingness to learn in a complex laboratory environment Attention to detail and accuracy Excellent documentation skills and knowledge of Good Document Practices (GDP) Strong verbal and written communication skills Nice-to-haves:
Experience troubleshooting liquid handler scripts Programming and coding experience Experience in a CLIA regulated environment Experience developing training programs Ability to work effectively in a team and build relationships High initiative and self-motivation
