We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly collaborative EMAT Synthesis Engineer to lead activities related to vehicle testing, focusing on fuel economy, electric driving range, and vehicle drivability. This role is essential in evaluating vehicle performance, aligning with program targets, and supporting propulsion system development across multiple testing phases.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary point of contact for fuel economy, electric range testing data, and subjective drivability evaluations for assigned vehicle programs. Manage and maintain test vehicles by coordinating hardware and software updates throughout the vehicle development lifecycle. Plan, coordinate, and execute chassis dynamometer testing to support fuel economy and electric range validation. Facilitate data access for internal teams conducting energy flow and electrical load analysis. Summarize and communicate key findings to internal product and engineering stakeholders. Conduct in-vehicle evaluations to assess capability, performance, and drivability. Provide qualitative feedback to support calibration and development teams. Collaborate closely with propulsion system calibration teams to align on functional drivability objectives, provide status updates, and recommend corrective actions or enhancements as needed. Participate in vehicle development trips to evaluate performance under varied environmental and operational conditions. Support additional engineering assignments as required by program or leadership needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) At least three years of experience in vehicle product development, propulsion system development, or performance testing Hands-on experience with data acquisition tools such as ETAS INCA or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with internal combustion and electrified powertrain systems Familiarity with competitive vehicle benchmarking and technology roadmap development Prior involvement in vehicle-level testing and subjective evaluation processes Proficiency with tools such as AVL Drive, MATLAB, and Microsoft Excel
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $29.40/hour - $45.94/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
