Job Summary: Sprezzatura is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business focused on delivering client success through technology and process insights. The Sr. Application Developer will support the Department of Veterans Affairs by enhancing and maintaining custom web applications, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring applications meet performance and security standards. Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain local and national Microsoft SQL databases and related ETL processes. • Collaborate with the business stakeholders, engineers, and developers to define project requirements and specifications. • Troubleshoot system/application issues using logs and performance monitoring tools. • Reverse engineer undocumented code bases, independently understand system behavior, and produce clear, structured documentation to support future development and maintenance. • Implement and maintain version control, software change management, and release pipelines. • Support AWS cloud migration activities. Qualifications: Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field. • MS SQL Server development and support is a must-have. • Minimum 7 years related work experience in software development or a related field. • Experience in full-stack development for web applications and data processes. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Strong ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. • Critical thinking and adaptability to address changing priorities or requirements. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team. • Proactive and self-motivated with a drive for continuous improvement. • Prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. • Maintain courteous and professional working relationships with employees at all levels. • Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally across teams. • Evidence of work authorization upon employment is required in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. • Candidates must undergo a background investigation, including a review of employment history, education, criminal record, and financial history. Preferred: • Experience with AWS migration is preferred. • Experience in the Federal Government contracting industry and/or familiarity working with the VA is strongly preferred.
