Position Overview
Stanley 1913 is seeking a Packaging Structural Engineer to join our diverse team in Seattle, WA! This outstanding opportunity allows you to develop customer-centric packaging solutions that are not only innovative but also balanced and aligned with our world-class standards. This role is required to work in the hybrid environment out of the Seattle, WA HQ 2-3 days a week in the office.
What You'll Do
Develop innovative structural designs that are appealing to consumers, exceptionally innovative, structurally sound, and easy to set up and unbox. Build designs that align with the packaging brief documentation, sustainability goals, brand guidelines, and packaging industry standards. Develop die lines in ArtiosCAD for paper and corrugated materials, then make mockups for evaluation. Implement and maintain packaging specifications and manage the collection process to ensure the packaging bill of material accuracy and traceability within the PLM system. Build and document design process, material specifications, assembly instructions, and testing procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product Engineering, Product Management, Project Management, Supply Chain, Merchandise Sourcing, and Packaging Production Engineering.
Who You Are
You are a proven expert in the properties, terminology, and specifications surrounding corrugate, paperboard, and other packaging materials and processes. Handle packaging data and documentation within a PLM system ensures accuracy and accessibility throughout the product lifecycle. You have a global perspective with familiarity in Asia-based packaging suppliers, as well as markets in APAC, EMEA, and LATAM regions. Knowledge of packaging printing, manufacturing, and assembly processes, and are capable of operating and maintaining packaging sample cutting tables and other prototype equipment. Prior ISTA Transit Tests experience.
Education and Experience
3+ years of comparable work experience as a packaging engineer. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in packaging engineering or a related technical field. Proficiency in Artios and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with Solidworks 3D CAD, Studio, and Keyshot rendering software is preferred. Experience in collecting, managing, and analyzing packaging specification data for extended producer responsibility (EPR) disclosures. Experience with TOPS or CAPE software.
The base pay range for this position is for a successful candidate within the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on multiple factors such as work location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience.
Salary Range
$100,000—$130,000 USD
