THE ROLE YOU WILL OWN The VP of Finance will partner closely with the executive leadership team to develop financial strategies that drive business performance and scalability while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with long-term objectives. Key Responsibilities: Financial Process Design and Optimization Lead the continuous improvement and optimization of financial processes, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and aligned with best practices. Develop and implement standardized procedures for month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure consistency and accuracy. Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in existing processes and design new systems, tools, and workflows to enhance productivity and financial oversight. Strategic Financial Planning and Analysis Partner with the leadership team to develop long-term financial strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives. Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, providing actionable insights that inform business decisions. Conduct in-depth financial analysis and scenarios planning to support strategic initiatives and evaluate key business opportunities and risks. Monitor financial performance and KPIs, providing recommendations to optimize revenue growth and cost efficiency. Financial Systems and Technology Oversee the implementation, management, and optimization of financial software and systems (ERP, accounting software, etc.) to ensure they are aligned with the company’s needs and scale. Leverage technology to automate and streamline financial reporting, compliance tracking, and financial controls. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure financial data integrity, security, and seamless system integrations across departments. Internal Controls and Compliance Strategy Design and enforce internal controls that ensure financial accuracy and mitigate operational risks, fraud, or financial misreporting. Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and tax laws while maintaining a forward-looking focus on industry best practices and emerging financial regulations. Lead efforts in managing audits, tax filings, and other external reporting requirements, ensuring full compliance and timely submission. Cash Flow and Capital Strategy Develop and execute cash flow management strategies that balance liquidity, operational needs, and strategic investments. Collaborate with the ELT on capital allocation decisions and funding strategies to support growth, including fundraising, debt financing, and equity management. Team Leadership and Development Lead and mentor the accounting team, focusing on process improvement, skill development, and ensuring alignment with the company’s financial objectives. Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high-performance within the financial team. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred Minimum of 7+ years of financial management or accounting experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role Proven experience in designing and optimizing financial processes, systems, and controls Prior experience in the FinTech industry or a technology-driven financial environment is highly desirable Strong understanding of financial strategy, process optimization, and the application of financial systems in a high-growth organization Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting, with a focus on strategic analysis and scenario planning Advanced proficiency with accounting software (experience with NetSuite or Sage Intacct is a plus) and financial reporting tools Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset WHAT WE OFFER A competitive base salary of $180,000 to $200,000 Annual bonus linked to company success and your personal performance Stock Options Flexible PTO policy Excellent Healthcare, Dental, and Vision benefits In accordance with Colorado state law, pay for this position is anticipated to be between $180,000 and $200,000. Actual offers will be based on the applicant’s skills, experience, and education.
