What does it mean to be a Director, Financial Analytics at GLS?
The Director, Financial Analytics will manage a team of analysts responsible for financial forecasting, modeling and related activities that are used to evaluate the overall financial performance of GLS, plan for capital needs, monitor asset performance, evaluate business strategies and monitor key financial metrics on behalf of GLS senior management. The position will be highly visible within GLS and will have the opportunity to influence the financial direction of the company.
How will you drive value within the organization as a Director, Financial Analytics?
Build an overall understanding of the GLS business model through the use and interpretation of the GLS five-year financial model and related frameworks; update senior management on GLS financial performance and identify key variances to plan; identify the root cause of variances and explain them to senior management
Build an understanding of key drivers of capital needs at GLS; advise senior management on capital needs over short and long-term planning horizons
Analyze and interpret financial scenarios available to GLS and evaluate trade-offs, constraints, and other key considerations to maximize profitability
Build a comprehensive understanding of the key factors influencing GLS asset and securitization performance and manage the process to update, maintain and improve related financial frameworks
Manage analysts responsible for updating and maintaining the five-year financial model, the daily liquidity forecast, the loan loss reserve model, cash flow models at the vintage and event month level, monthly and quarterly financial reporting to the Board of Directors, the monthly loss variance analysis, a monthly asset level profitability analysis, securitization cash flow models, fair value asset models and other analyses
Lead the development of analysts including training in job responsibilities and developing competencies
Assist with ad hoc financial analyses
Participate in special projects as needed, including Corporate Development functions
Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by management
What should you already know to be successful as a Director, Financial Analytics?
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering, or a related field required
Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, data analytics or similar role required
Prior professional experience with complex financial or data models, including financial statement modeling, highly preferred
Prior management experience in a financial modeling or data analytics role preferred
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and data gathering skills required
Strong Excel skills required; familiarity with SQL, Snowflake or related database programs preferred
Possess a high level of intellectual curiosity with a natural inclination to understand business models and strategies through analysis
High degree of critical thinking skills; ability to effectively evaluate options, understand gaps or flaws in analysis, and resolve gaps to completion
Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Commitment to exemplifying the organizational core values and key competencies

This job operates in a professional office environment, primarily indoors
Significant portions of daily assignments involve application of manual skills requiring motor coordination in combination with finger dexterity
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet
Be able to perform activities such as: viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, bending, and kneeling
