Description

Cape Cod Central Railroad is seeking a skilled and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team for the 2025 Season and beyond. Fine dining and banquet experience preferred. Cooks are responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of menu items as directed by the chef, ensuring food quality and safety, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment, while working as a team with all members of staff to ensure the highest quality and standards are achieved. Cook will work in an English speaking kitchen. Excellent position and hours for the right candidate. Work Location: Hyannis, MA Cape Cod

Responsibilities: Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, chopping, and seasoning. Follow recipes and cooking instructions to ensure consistent food quality. Monitor food temperatures and maintain logs as required. Cook food using various methods (e.g., grilling, frying, baking, sauting). Ensure proper portion sizes and presentation of dishes. Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, including equipment and utensils. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations. Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies. Properly store and rotate food items to prevent spoilage. Check the quality and freshness of ingredients. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation. Communicate effectively with kitchen management and front-of-house staff. Assist with opening and closing procedures. Position Requirements

Culinary degree or equivalent experience; Minimum 3 years of restaurant and/or banquet hall experience; High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Excellent culinary skills; attention to detail; communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in basic cooking techniques and food preparation methods. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced, English speaking environment. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Certifications: Food handler's certification or equivalent preferred.
