Sierra Medical Center is a 170-bed acute care hospital offering services including 24/7 ER care, cardiology, oncology, labor and delivery, level II NICU, surgical and orthopedic services, and much more. This Pharmacy Tech opportunity is per diem and offers a flexible schedule. This dynamic individual will assist the Pharmacist by filling physician orders for medications for oral, rectal, topical and injectable use; mixes IV admixture solutions as required using aseptic technique in the Laminar Air Flow hood; types labels, prepares and files charge slips and performs other related duties. Job Duties: Assists the Pharmacist in providing medication, drug information and pharmaceutical services to patients, nurses, physicians and other hospital personnel. Demonstrates ability to calculate figures and amounts relating to dosage calculations when filing various prescriptions ranging from the newborn to the elderly populations. Prepares intravenous solutions and admixtures. Assists in filling prescriptions. Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an approved Pharmacy Technician school or equivalent work experience & PTCB certified. Minimum of two years (2) required, preferable in a hospital setting. Automation experience with knowledge of reporting features (i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic access, etc.) Licensed by Nevada Board of Pharmacy & Certified by PTCB Automated pharmacy systems. IV Laminar Flow Hood, or willingness to learn.
