Food handler's card is preferred, but not required. Join the culinary team at IMG Academy, a world-class sports training destination supporting student-athletes, staff, and professional guests. As a Prep Cook focused on cold food preparation, you'll play a vital role in creating nutritious meals in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. Responsibilities: Prepare fresh ingredients for cold food production including salads, fruits, sandwiches, and other chilled items Wash, chop, and portion vegetables, proteins, and garnishes following recipe and portion guidelines Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked prep station throughout service Support chefs and kitchen staff by completing prep tasks efficiently and accurately Receive, label, and store cold food deliveries according to safety standards Follow all food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures as required in a commercial kitchen

Skills: Previous experience in a prep cook or foodservice role preferred Strong attention to detail and consistency in food preparation Ability to work as part of a fast-moving, team-oriented kitchen Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions with minimal supervision

Requirements: Must pass a Level 2 background check and fingerprint screening Reliable transportation to and from IMG Academy daily Non-slip kitchen shoes and appropriate food-safe attire required Hair must be neatly groomed and restrained; no loose jewelry permitted Must follow all IMG Academy hygiene and kitchen conduct standards

General responsibilities when working a Cook job assignment can include: Cook food items according to recipes and food production standards Ensure food is safely prepared and at the proper temperature for consumption Keep cooking station clean and orderly during shift Comply with all sanitation and safety standards to ensure a safe work environment Safely use and operate cooking appliances and utensils Provide friendly and helpful customer service for guests as needed Assist in ordering and receiving food products for the kitchen as needed Work in a busy environment and standing for long periods of time
