This role is accountable for ensuring the integrity, recoverability, and availability of data across global sites, as well as coordinating patch compliance, disaster recovery testing, and support for critical trading and operational platforms.
As a senior technical leader and escalation point, this position collaborates with teams across infrastructure, security, applications, and global site support to ensure consistent service delivery, audit readiness, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Enterprise Storage Operations
Administer global storage systems including NetApp, Dell Unity, and Dell PowerStore across data centers: (colo) Equinix, (self-hosted) Stamford, LA, London, and Singapore. Manage network-based file share infrastructure (SMB, DFS, NFS) including HR-restricted shares, departmental drives, Geneva application shares, and MDM dependencies. Oversee configuration, capacity planning, access provisioning, and lifecycle upgrades of storage hardware at global sites. Coordinate local storage deployments for critical office locations such as Stamford and London.
Backup and Archival Management
Lead enterprise backup strategy using Avamar (software) and Dell IDPA/Data Domain (hardware) and legacy Veritas systems. Ensure reliable backup of mission-critical systems (e.g., fund accounting system Geneva, order-management-system Everest, SQL databases, SharePoint, MDM) and retention compliance for 1-year and 10-year data sets. Manage backup restore workflows, offsite replication to Virginia, and S3 archival for monthly and annual snapshots. Coordinate audits and reporting in support of regulatory and internal reviews.
Cyber Vault & Air-Gap Recovery Infrastructure
Oversee cyber vault (Dell Cyber Recovery) architecture, including scan intervals, retention, and infection alert workflows. Manage the LA cyber vault and clean room architecture, including physical access and remote session troubleshooting. Work with partners to implement remote access and storage expansion for air-gap replication scalability.
Disaster Recovery and Testing
Collaborate with business continuity teams to perform semi-annual DR tests for mission-critical applications (e.g., Geneva, MDM, data warehouse). Maintain and enhance DR runbooks; ensure infrastructure-level failover scenarios are documented and executable. Execute non-disruptive, bubble-based failover environments for DR validation using VMware and Veeam Live Recovery.
Patching and Vulnerability Remediation
Lead monthly and quarterly patch cycles for storage, virtualization, and backup appliances (ESXi, IDPA, NetApp). Remediate vulnerabilities based on CVE and SSCM scans provided by the security team; track status in Jira. Ensure patch testing is successful, and systems remain operational post-remediation.
Infrastructure Support and Escalations
Act as L3 escalation for application and infrastructure teams when backup, storage, or server performance issues arise and require hands on the keyboard and in-person expertise. Support Geneva’s infrastructure environment including NFS shares, unit servers, SQL backend, and job scheduling errors. Assist in troubleshooting interface workflows, API-based data feeds, and nightly reconciliation failures.
Hardware Lifecycle and Vendor Coordination
Lead hardware decommissioning projects, including secure wiping (e.g., NetApp, Veritas) and vendor-managed disposal. Coordinate with vendors such as Dell and Redesign for capacity expansion, contract renewals, and quote approvals. Track global support contracts, lifecycle thresholds, and legacy hardware support transitions to Park Place.
Site Support & Global Collaboration
Provide support coordination for sites such as New York, Stamford, LA, and London, in collaboration with regional leads. Support cabling, power, AC maintenance, and hardware troubleshooting on-site or via local partners. Assist in FTP data exchanges, vendor public key updates, and firewall troubleshooting.
Documentation, Compliance, and Audit Support
Ensure all backup, storage, DR, and cyber vault documentation is updated in SharePoint or Confluence. Serve as audit point-of-contact for storage and backup operations; generate required logs, reports, and attestations. Coordinate inventory management and patch planning documentation with India support teams and third-party vendors.
Required Qualifications

Strong technical expertise in Dell PowerStore, NetApp, Avamar, Dell IDPA/Data Domain, and VMware virtualization. Experience with SMB/NFS/DFS file share management and Microsoft DFS. Demonstrated ability to manage backup compliance, DR planning, and secure data retention practices. Knowledge of CVE remediation processes and vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., SCCM, Jira). Strong documentation, coordination, and audit response skills. Familiarity with remote site infrastructure and vendor relationship management.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in asset/investment management, financial services, or highly regulated environments. Familiarity with Geneva and other investment systems’ infrastructure dependencies. Exposure to Azure Blob Storage, AWS S3, Dell Cyber Recovery, or air-gapped data protection solutions. Prior involvement in enterprise DR testing and documentation best practices. Certifications in Dell, NetApp, ITIL, or data center management a plus.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master’s degree in Technology Management, Information Technology, or a related field, a plus.
Base Salary Range
