Senior Linux/Unix Engineer
Permanent Role
Strong experience in RHEL 6, 7 administration, implementation, and troubleshooting.
Experienced in Linux clustering and VM-level Linux clustering.
Experience in OS installation, configuration, and fine-tuning.
Knowledge of Linux security, OS hardening, and auditing.
Experience with NFS, DNS, automount administration, and LVM, GFS, filesystem administration.
Hardware troubleshooting and vendor coordination experience.
Experience in incident management, change management, and configuration management.
Experience in log monitoring and maintenance.
Engage in maintenance and support activities, including troubleshooting, incident response, and patching.
Collaborate with end users, architects, and team leads to develop and implement Unix and Linux configuration changes based on requirements.
Evaluate Unix and Linux platform architecture and make recommendations.
Coordinate with vendors and support teams on problem resolution, implementation issues, and upgrades.
Extensive experience in Red Hat OS repository creation and troubleshooting for patching (Red Hat Satellite management experience preferred).
Deep experience in Linux crash dump analysis and log analysis.
Experience with Squid Proxy server, Splunk installation, SMTP server, Apache, and Tomcat web server.
Proficiency in automating tasks using shell scripting and Ansible.
Basic knowledge of public cloud platforms.
Requirements:
Experience working in RHEL environments.
Responsible for new Linux project implementations.
Handle day-to-day operational issues.
Support and resolve Linux and application-related issues.
Strong diagnostic skills and ability to resolve problems quickly.
Solid technical competence in troubleshooting hardware/software issues and good people skills for supporting infrastructure setup.
Good understanding of ITIL processes.
Experience with WOG processes is highly welcome.
