Junior Interior Designer
in our

office. Be involved in projects with our
Federal Programs Team
and contribute to a growing organization that meets client objectives and solves challenges. Your Responsibilities
Assist the design team in all project phases including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration. Support with furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) throughout all interior design phases. Contribute to the design development and documentation of interior spaces, including drawings of floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, and room finishes. Conduct research for product and finish selections; assist in developing finish plans and specifications. Help prepare presentation boards and computerized renderings. Maintain and organize the Interior Design library and order samples/materials from vendors. Gather and define customer design requirements, creating solutions from conceptual to final design within established parameters. Develop design and construction documents, project specifications, and presentation graphics. Coordinate design activities with architecture, engineering, safety, and other related teams. Ensure compliance with Building Codes and ADA requirements. Assist with design reviews of government projects and develop project cost estimates. Manage project schedules, budgets, and oversee design and construction efforts. Prepare reports, manage project change requests, and communicate with stakeholders. Ensure all systems integration, including IT, security, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing. Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies, exercising responsible decision-making. Qualifications
1-3 years of relevant post-education experience. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design. Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and V-Ray. Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills. Ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance. Knowledge of building planning, standards, and construction management. Creative, visualization, and technical drawing skills. Effective interpersonal and professional communication skills. Detail-oriented with multitasking and prioritization skills. Willingness to work beyond typical hours and occasional travel. Preferred Qualifications
Active Secret US Security Clearance. WSP offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, retirement, paid leave, and more. Salary range: $70,200 - $85,000. The range is an estimate based on various factors, and actual compensation may vary. This position is located in Washington, DC, and is a full-time, entry-level role within the design and arts/creative industries sector.
