Please submit an online application The Associate Dean for AcademicAffairs is responsible for leading the College of Pharmacy in areas related tocurricular and programmatic development and innovation. The Associate Dean forAcademic Affairs (ADAA) supports the Dean in academic and curricular matters,and in the preparation of College and University-level accreditation reportsand projects. The ADAA supports faculty development as it relates tocurricular, teaching and programmatic development and assessment. The AssociateDean should have a demonstrated record of academic administration, includingthe development and maintenance of new and/or revised programs, assessment,experience with faculty development, and team building. The ADAA must havestrong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and the abilityto adapt and lead in a dynamic environment. The Associate Dean for AcademicAffairs must be eligible for a faculty appointment at the rank of Associate orFull Professor. Experience in Pharmacy academia preferred. Duties andResponsibilities · Administerand oversee goals, objectives and policies of the academic program, ensuring astrong and collaborative academic environment. · Serve asliaison between the College of Pharmacy and the University (deans, departments,and senior leadership). · Provideleadership in the effective development, implementation, and ongoing assessmentof the professional curriculum. · Support theOffice of Assessment and the Associate Dean of Assessment. · Collaboratewith the Assistant Dean for Student and Professional Affairs to prepare theschedule of courses to ensure appropriate and effective use of College and University facilities and resources in teaching and learning. · Develop andmanage assigned budgets. · Ensurecompliance to academic standards and perform effective curriculum oversight. · Provideleadership for the planning, development, implementation, and assessment of theCollege’s strategic initiatives and operations. · Coordinatethe accreditation process, including the development of interim reports and theself-study process. · Managesabbatical leave, leave of absence, and vacation request process. · Manage theprocess for external Professional Activity forms, service assignments, purchaseorders, faculty development travel approvals. · Overseeagreements and collaborations with affiliates, partners, and otherinstitutions. · Set stipendand tuition waiver levels as allowed. · Provideoversight for the operations and organizational effectiveness of all academicand assigned administrative units. · Receive andaddress questions, complaints, grievances, and suggestions from members of theCollege, and take appropriate action as required. · Conductclassroom evaluations to identify physical, technical, and educationalresources needed to support optimal student learning. · Collaborateas needed with the division chairs to draft faculty workloads for teaching. · Work withfaculty to develop programs for the advancement of the faculty, to promotecontemporary pedagogical approaches as well as faculty academic success and well-being. · Incollaboration with the faculty, facilitate the development, implementation,assessment, and revision of the didactic and experiential curriculum for thePharmD program as needed. · Develop,implement, assess, and revise the curriculum, including course development,mentoring of course coordinators, adjunct faculty, assessment, and otheractivities related to the graduate program. · Conductannual evaluations of faculty and provide feedback to support forreappointment/ promotion during the promotion and tenure process. · Engage withfaculty and staff to enhance mentorship across the College. · Work withthe Coordinator of the Teaching and Learning Certificate Program to assess andrevise the teaching certificate program as needed. · Engage inscholarly activities in areas of interest and expertise.
