Reporting to the Global Head of Corporate Services, the Director of Corporate Real Estate Services is responsible for managing the firm’s global real estate portfolio and workplace services, including leasing development, and facility operations across all office locations. Based onsite in our New York headquarters this role leads a small, high-impact team and provides guidance to Office Managers/Administrators globally. Success in this role requires balancing strategic vision with hands-on operational management, ensuring processes are both efficient and scalable. Lease & Project Management Contribute to and execute a comprehensive corporate real estate strategy ensuring alignment with the company’s goals. Negotiate a wide range of real estate transactions such as new leases, renewals, amendments and subleases across all offices globally; manage and maintain relationships with legal counsel; experience with reviewing, drafting and preparing agreements and related documents. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as obligations as stated in the leases; engage with landlords as needed to rectify non-compliance. Manage and maintain relationships with landlords, real estate brokers, service providers, and building management. Manage Corporate Real Estate Services lease and CapEx budget/forecast; in partnership with the Finance Team, analyze and identify any discrepancies between budget and actual amounts on a quarterly basis; review of annual CAM, Tax and OpEx expenses for lease compliance on a per lease basis. With input from Global Head of Corporate Services and other internal stakeholders, develop processes to optimize common and regular lease activities. Develop presentations and other communications about projects and assist in making presentations to internal stakeholders; present lease transactions and large project CapEx for approval. Responsibility for new construction and refurbishment projects, including conducting site visits to ensure adherence to design guidelines, monitoring construction of tenant improvements, managing external contractors, and overseeing timelines and budgets. Conduct due diligence and risk assessment for potential real estate lease transactions. Assemble and manage project teams, and manage contracts (architectural, engineering, etc.); experience with interviewing, hiring, and managing architect/design firms, design and space planning process. Identify opportunities to further support Firm CSR initiatives and coordinate all Real Estate related sustainable compliance activities. Workplace Management Serve as issue escalation point for all CRE and FM operational matters and proactively identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness, processes, and program outcomes. Identify opportunities to optimize use of space (people, furniture, etc.) to reduce expenses; manage, plan and coordinate space planning and reconfigurations. Propose service improvement and cost savings opportunities; manage and review suppliers by service and spending to drive efficiencies. Serve as escalation point for all CRE and FM vendors; develop and monitor performance, accountability, and deliverables as defined within the contracts. Physical Security Refine and oversee the implementation of policies, procedures, standards, and methods designed to identify and mitigate risks to personnel, property, facilities, operations, and materials, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Lead and manage the ongoing delivery of services such as alarm monitoring, access control, incident detection and response, communication protocols, theft prevention, and property protection, ensuring consistent execution and continuous improvement. Oversee and optimize the execution of physical security site plans and operations, ensuring the safety and security of employees, visitors, vendors, assets, and infrastructure while adapting to evolving organizational needs. Qualification/ Requirements At least 10 years of experience in corporate real estate, workplace development, or facilities management. Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Facilities Management, or a related field. Proven ability to lead high-impact teams and manage global stakeholders across diverse geographies. Highly organized, self-directed professional able to set and adjust priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated success navigating matrixed organizations and partnering across functions to execute effectively. Track record of identifying challenges, generating innovative ideas, and executing effective solutions. Deep expertise in contract management, vendor partnerships, and lease negotiations. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build consensus and adapt to different work styles. Experience managing and developing small teams with an emphasis on collaboration and accountability. Strong financial and analytical skills, including budgeting, cost management, and performance measurement. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and workplace management tools. High degree of professionalism; able to engage effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners. Willingness and ability to travel as needed. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in entrepreneurial or fast-growing organizations, with demonstrated ability to build consensus and foster collaboration across diverse teams. Prior experience managing global real estate portfolios and navigating complex regulatory environments across multiple countries. Experience driving organizational change, implementing new processes, and improving operational efficiency. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empower and uplift team members while holding them accountable for results. Ability to communicate effectively across cultural and professional boundaries, ensuring clarity and alignment in fast-moving environments. Familiarity with leading global brokerage firms (e.g., CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, JLL) and architectural firms, with experience managing RFP processes. Knowledge of workplace security systems and protocols, including emergency management planning and physical security solutions. Familiarity with workplace technology platforms (e.g., Brivo, Swift Connect, OfficeSpace) and ability to drive adoption across global offices. Demonstrated ability to work closely with senior leadership, providing strategic recommendations and managing visibility on critical projects.
