Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following locations: NC, AZ, FL, TX

This position is responsible for providing advanced technical support to data processing systems. Analyzes existing and proposed data processing systems or procedures that improve processing capabilities. Assists the installation of programs and procedures developed in coordination with end user groups. Enhances data processing systems and procedures through system analysis, coding, testing, and other activities that facilitate technical business objectives. May need to provide support to mainframe applications so should be aware of mainframe technologies.

Responsibilities

Data Analysis

- Sources, compiles, and interprets data. Performs analysis for accuracy and efficiencies, effectively communicates analysis output.

System Testing

- Thoroughly tests systems to ensure proper installation of new software, system changes, and overall efficiency. Evaluates and conveys testing results. Performs coding and assists in implementing system modifications and enhancements. Interact with Business units to gather and analyze the requirements for developing solutions; design and develop applications and sub-systems; ensure quality timely deliverables; re-write existing business logic for simplified solutions; create functional and technical specifications.

Business Support

- Provides technical support by performing coding, ensuring processes run smoothly, and working to continuously improve processing capabilities. Works closely with business units and operation teams to support their business objectives.

Technical Proficiency

- Utilizes knowledge to develop or install appropriate computer software. Serves as a resource on data processing systems and procedures.

On-call Support

- Provides 24/7 on call rotations, must be available for on-call support to existing system; provide functional and technical clarification to offshore teams; interact with the end users while troubleshooting the production issues; coordinate with other technology groups on functional and technical clarifications; involve in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle and Project management activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Application software programming OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Application software programming

Preferred Area of Study: Computer Science

Preferred Area of Experience:

Proven experience in API development, understanding of API architectural styles; MS.NET; ASP.NET; JavaScript; SQL Scripting; Powershell Scripting; HTML 5; XML;

Proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js, C#).

Knowledge of COBOL, Easytrieve, CICS, VSAM and JCL.

Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) or similar code repository system, Experience with ServiceNow or other IT service ticketing systems, Knowledge of System Life Cycle Development methodology (like Waterfall and Agile), Ability to be on call 24/7, on a rotating basis.
