Nike . Who You’ll Work With You’ll lead a globally distributed engineering team within Nike’s Data, Analytics & Intelligence (DAI) organization, based in Beaverton, OR. You’ll partner with Technical Product Managers, Principal Engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable data capabilities that empower teams across Nike to generate insights and analytics in a governed, consistent, and efficient manner. Who We Are Looking For We seek an experienced, inclusive, and hands-on engineering leader to drive Nike’s data enablement strategy. The role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data architecture, platform engineering, and product thinking. You will lead the development of frameworks and services to standardize how Nike defines, stores, and publishes business metrics, integrate GenAI capabilities into analytics workflows, and enable federated data ownership through a data mesh approach. You will also help shape Nike’s broader data strategy, ensuring security, scalability, and alignment with industry best practices and enterprise standards. Key Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field + 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles or equivalent. Proven experience building data-centric frameworks, APIs, and services at scale. Deep expertise in software engineering fundamentals, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecture. Experience with data platforms and tools like Databricks, Snowflake, EMR, Airflow, Kafka, Spark. Experience with CICD and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes. Knowledge of AI/ML, GenAI, and AI automation. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with proven leadership ability. Strategic and financial impact evaluation skills. Pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset emphasizing customer value and resilient systems. Leadership with empathy, fostering trust, empowerment, and growth in line with Nike’s Maxims. What You’ll Work On You will lead the design and delivery of data capabilities powering Nike’s Analytics and Intelligence Ecosystem, including: Building and scaling Nike’s enterprise data mesh and marketplace for federated data ownership. Developing services for KPI/metric definition, lineage, and publication. Embedding GenAI-powered analytics into BI and reporting workflows. Partnering with product leaders to meet data needs of internal users. Collaborating with Principal Engineers to improve security, reliability, and scalability. Ensuring alignment and integration across teams. Defining and enforcing engineering standards for data-centric development. Mentoring engineers and fostering innovation and trust.
