Sr. Health Actuarial Consultant Mercer Description: We are seeking a talented individual to join our Health Actuarial Consulting team at Mercer. This is a hybrid role requiring at least three days a week in the office. As a Sr. Health Actuarial Consultant, you will manage client projects focused on employers' health benefits strategies, including financial projections, plan design optimization, and renewal negotiations. You will serve as a primary financial contact for clients and provide guidance to analysts and associates. Responsibilities include: Leading client engagements related to health benefits strategies, financial projections, plan design, renewal negotiations, and benchmarking. Managing service delivery and providing strategic guidance to ensure high-quality outcomes for clients. Reviewing data analyses performed by junior team members for actuarial accuracy and supporting their professional development. Conducting complex analyses and cost projections using Excel, SAS, and other tools, with potential specialization in healthcare insurance areas. Preparing and reviewing client reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommend strategies. Qualifications: BA/BS degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, finance, economics, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years' experience in underwriting or actuarial roles, focusing on health and benefits consulting. Progress toward ASA designation or equivalent. Client-facing experience with strong communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in health benefits actuarial consulting. ASA credentialed or equivalent professional certification is preferred. The salary range for this role is $93,500 to $187,000, determined by experience, skills, location, certifications, and other factors. The position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives.
