Job Description Education: Degree in Engineering/ Maths/ Physics
Knowledge: Linear Algebra, statistics and time series analysis
Technical Skills: Proficient in Python, Java, SQL
Experience: Implementing analytics in risk/calculation engine to generate valuation, return, and 1st order risk measures.
Understanding of equity and fixed income products, exchange-traded derivatives, portfolio analysis, fund accounting, and NAV calculation.
A Calculation Engineer, also known as a Simulation Engineer, uses computational methods and software to analyze and evaluate the performance, stability, and safety of products and systems. They perform simulations to test parameters like load, stress, thermal expansion, and service life, ensuring designs meet requirements and optimize performance.
Key Responsibilities
Simulation and Analysis:
Conduct simulations using specialized software to analyze product behavior under different conditions.
Performance Evaluation:
Assess factors like load capacity, stability, and material resilience based on simulation results.
Design Optimization:
Identify areas for improvement in product design by analyzing simulation data and suggesting modifications.
Report Generation:
Prepare detailed reports, calculations, and technical justifications based on simulation results.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other engineering disciplines to integrate simulation results into the overall design process.
Compliance:
Ensure calculations and analyses adhere to industry standards and codes.
Tools and Technologies
Simulation Software: CAESAR II, Pipestress, or similar tools
CAD/CAE: For modeling and analysis
Programming: Python for scripting and automation
