Network Architect - Defence Sector
Location:
Birmingham (Hybrid Working Options) Salary:
Up to £78,000 + 15% Bonus + £6,000 Car Allowance + 10% DV Allowance Total Package:

Network Architect
to lead the design and support of secure, complex network infrastructure for a major defence project. You'll play a critical role in supporting Programme and Project Managers, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and fit for purpose, while working with some of the most advanced technologies in the industry. What You'll Be Doing
Leading the creation of
High-Level and Low-Level Designs
(HLDs/LLDs) across a range of platforms and technologies.
Supporting the
Lead Architect and Deputy CTO
to define and refine network designs across work streams.
Collaborating with
Network Design Engineers
and
Support Engineers
to resolve delivery and operational challenges.
Designing and supporting components including: Cisco FMC, SSM, FTD
Juniper (WAN, LAN, SRX, EX)
Gigamon HC1/GigaVUE FM
Endace, NTP, Data Centre Firewalls & LAN
Ensuring all designs meet governance, security, and operational standards.
Supporting customer reports and technical documentation as needed.
What You'll Bring
Experience working on overseas infrastructure
and secure environments.
Demonstrable experience in
network architecture
using technologies from major vendors (eg Cisco, Juniper, Gigamon).
Strong knowledge of: Routing protocols ,
virtual routing instances ,
VPNs ,
QoS , and
security zones/policies .
High availability solutions
and troubleshooting complex network issues.
Experience with
IP Addressing schemes , network configuration, and life cycle support.
Familiarity with
requirements management tools
and processes.
Excellent communication skills - able to liaise with technical and non-technical teams alike.
Vendor certifications
(eg, Cisco, Juniper) are highly desirable.
