Additional Skills & Qualifications
BS or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent 2+ years of experience working in a related mechanical/fastener test engineering role
Exceptional candidates with fewer years of relevant experience may still be considered Demonstrated knowledge in fields including bolted joint design, fastener production quality control techniques, mechanical behavior of materials, and experimental statistics Self-motivated and strong desire to learn new skills and create innovative test methods Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to establish effective working relationships Experience with fastener/joint tests, (e.g. destructive and non-destructive tests, clamp load, torque, joint slip test) Hands on experience with torque, angle, and ultrasonic clamp load measurement devices (particularly MC900/MC950) Experience with a variety of mechanical test methods (e.g. tension, compression, bending, lap shear, fatigue etc.) Hands-on experience with universal test systems (electro-mechanical and hydraulic) and strain measurement techniques (e.g. strain gauges, digital-image-correlation)
