This is a unique opportunity to join a nationally respected nonprofit organization that provides hospice, palliative care, grief support, and PACE services across a 10,000-square-mile region of Western Colorado, with deep community roots and a strong philanthropic foundation. HopeWest is poised for a new chapter of performance, integration, and leadership development. The COO will serve as the organization’s lead operator, reporting to the CEO and overseeing day-to-day operations across all care lines. The role requires a proven healthcare executive with experience in complex clinical delivery systems, including hospice, palliative care, or PACE models. Candidates should have a track record of building accountable leadership teams, scaling infrastructure, and driving cultural alignment while maintaining a focus on mission and quality of care. A coaching mindset, change leadership experience, and comfort with both strategy and execution are essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate a long-term commitment to the community and be energized by HopeWest’s vision, relational culture, and regional identity. Leaders from larger systems must demonstrate the ability to adapt to a high-touch, mission-driven environment. Metrics of success include growth in census, enhanced team clarity and cohesion, financial discipline, and improved performance in quality and satisfaction scores. The COO will play a lead role in reinforcing HopeWest’s identity while advancing operational discipline and shared accountability across programs and teams. This is a highly relational, purpose-driven role ideal for a hands-on operator who leads with both empathy and accountability.
