Position Summary
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall strategic and operational leadership of the Escondido Education COMPACT, including its staff, programs, expansion, and the execution of its mission. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with strong financial acumen, experience in program management, and a passion for youth services.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management:
Lead the organization towards a shared vision and new strategic directions in response to changing client and community needs. Provide support, education, and leadership to the Board of Directors. Oversee the hiring, training, and management of all employees and volunteer staff members. Foster a collaborative, energetic, and team-oriented work environment. Represent the organization at numerous community meetings and on partnership boards.
Financial & Fund Development
Ensure fiduciary responsibility and sound financial management. Lead all fund development activities and strategy. Develop and manage an annual budget exceeding $2.7 million, with an understanding of government funding and accountability requirements.
Program Development & Evaluation
Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of all programs. Serve as a program educator to teachers, school staff, and community members.
Administrative & Operational
Coordinate and facilitate all Board meetings, sub-committees, and task forces with the support of the Office Manager. Handle conflict resolution for students, coworkers, and employers. Manage Workers' Compensation administration and OSHA training.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a relevant field. A minimum of 5 years of successful experience in a senior management role in a non-profit organization Strong financial management and planning skills, including previous responsibility for developing and managing a non-profit budget exceeding $2.7 million annually. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse ethnic and socioeconomic population. Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Availability for flexible hours to attend meetings and events.
Preferred Qualifications
A master's degree (MA/MBA/MS) is preferred.

Outstanding interpersonal, customer service, and public relations skills. Advanced skills in Human Resources. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Energetic, hard-working, motivated, and team-oriented. Ability to work effectively in a hectic, fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $115,000.00-$125,000 Benefits: $350 monthly flexible benefits account. Leave: Sick leave and two weeks of paid vacation per year.
