Senior BSA Compliance Analyst Location: Santa Rosa, CA Department: Compliance Job Type: Full-Time Join a Mission-Driven Compliance Team Making a Real Impact Are you a detail-oriented compliance expert with a passion for protecting financial institutions from financial crimes? We’re seeking a Senior BSA Compliance Analyst to play a vital role in upholding the integrity of our bank and ensuring strict adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, and OFAC guidelines. In this highly analytical role, you’ll lead the charge in identifying and investigating suspicious activity, mitigating risk, and strengthening our compliance program. You’ll be a subject matter expert in fraud detection, customer due diligence, and regulatory reporting—helping safeguard our institution and the communities we serve. Key Responsibilities Conduct High-Impact Reviews: Analyze complex transactions and customer activity to identify potential fraud, structuring, money laundering, and terrorist financing. Perform Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD): Investigate high- and moderate-risk accounts, evaluate ownership structures, and validate risk levels to ensure regulatory compliance. Investigate Suspicious Activity: Independently review data and transaction reports, escalating concerns and filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) when appropriate. Quality Assurance & Monitoring: Perform quality control reviews of BSA/AML/Fraud alerts, CTRs, and risk assessments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory alignment. Optimize AML Software: Fine-tune scoring models, validate data, and enhance alert efficiency through targeted testing and analytics. Watch List & OFAC Screening: Monitor and respond to watchlist alerts, including OFAC, SDN, and other mandated screenings. Support Fraud Program: Participate in fraud detection, elder abuse reporting, and development of internal tools and processes. Stay Ahead of Regulatory Trends: Monitor changes in federal and state laws and assist with policy updates, audits, and regulatory exams. Mentor & Collaborate: Share knowledge, support junior team members, and foster a proactive compliance culture. Engage in Community Impact: Participate in at least 10 CRA volunteer hours per year—on the clock, with mileage reimbursed. What You Bring Minimum 5 years of experience in BSA/AML/Fraud within a financial institution. Strong working knowledge of BSA, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, and other regulatory frameworks. Expertise in AML software, risk analysis, and suspicious activity investigations. Analytical mindset with the ability to detect patterns, solve problems, and recommend solutions. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—able to translate regulatory complexity into actionable insights. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with precision and sound judgment. Proficiency with financial systems, data validation, and compliance platforms. Collaborative spirit with the initiative to self-direct learning and optimize workflows. Must be eligible to work full-time and maintain regular attendance.
