Senior Accountant, ISMIE Mutual Insurance Company Location: Chicago – Fulltime About Us: ISMIE is a Chicago based national professional liability insurance company that provides insurance coverage for health care professionals, small health care facilities and other professionals. About the Position: Company is seeking a senior accountant able to work in a fast-paced environment, perform accounting services, financial reporting, financial analysis, and reinsurance reporting for ISMIE Mutual, ISMIE Indemnity and ISMS. Primary Responsibilities: •Prepare journal entries •Prepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations •Assist with investment accounting •Accounting for foreign subsidiaries •Reinsurance accounting •Sate compliance filings and regulatory reporting •Assist with annual audit work paper preparation •Assist with 990 reporting •Additional duties and responsibilities as required Required Skills and Qualifications: Education Required for Position: •Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Experience Required for Position: •2 to 5 years experience in related field. •Insurance industry experience preferred. Specific Skills Required for Position: •Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, Excel) •Excellent spreadsheet development and maintenance skills. •Excellent attention to detail. •Excellent organizational skills. •Excellent analytical skills required. •Ability to multi-task and capable of juggling tasks, deliverables and projects with changing priorities and deadlines. •Excellent communication skills required. •Action oriented with a strong work ethic. Compensation and Benefits: The pay range is estimated to be between $75,000 and $100,000 per year for residents of the greater Chicagoland area. * The Company has a robust benefit package. Coverage for benefits will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans, policies and associated governing plan documents.
