Security Engineer

TEKsystems . This position reports to the Director of Information Security and involves hands-on security responsibilities, including SDLC security, implementation, and maintenance of security controls. Responsibilities include:
Performing security functions such as IAM, vulnerability scanning, light pen testing, and review of security reports. Generating internal threat intelligence and monitoring compliance with security policies. Defining system security requirements and participating in design discussions. Developing security countermeasures, dashboards, and supporting incident response. Promoting security awareness and reviewing security plans across the organization. Working independently and leading project initiatives, maintaining deep IT security knowledge, and mentoring junior staff. Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience. 6-8 years in security analysis/engineering with cloud and on-prem solutions. Certifications such as Security+, CEH, CCSP, CISSP. Expertise in IAM, secure design, and security standards like HIPAA, NIST. Strong communication and troubleshooting skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications:
12-month contract with potential to grow into a Security Architect role. On-site in Columbia, MD, with skills in Windows, Cisco, Okta, Azure, IAM, and vulnerability management. Compensation & Benefits:
Pay range: $70-$75/hr. Benefits include health coverage, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, and more. Position Details:
