About the Role Under the direction of the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), this role provides strategic and operational leadership across all Enterprise Risk Management functions. The SVP, Risk Strategy and Governance, supports the CRO in executing the bank’s ERM framework, ensuring alignment with risk appetite, regulatory expectations, and strategic goals. The role manages the Risk Operations function, overseeing Enterprise Risk Assessments, Issues Management, Regulatory Exam Management, New Product Risk Assessments, and Governance Documents. Key Responsibilities Support the CRO in designing and overseeing the ERM framework, including risk identification, measurement, and reporting. Manage the Risk Appetite Program Framework and enterprise risk assessments. Oversee governance processes, Risk Committee operations, and regulatory reporting. Lead regulatory exam management, including coordination and documentation. Facilitate risk assessments for new products and services. Develop risk dashboards and KRIs for reporting to executives and the Board. Provide leadership to risk teams and ensure integration of risk considerations into strategic planning. Monitor emerging risks and regulatory changes, advising senior management. Manage risk-related audits and examinations, acting as liaison with regulators. Lead or support strategic projects to enhance risk capabilities. Manage the ERM team, including hiring, development, and performance management. Qualifications Deep understanding of risk management principles and regulatory frameworks. Proven leadership in enterprise-wide risk initiatives. Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience in risk analytics platforms. Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s preferred. Minimum 12 years of risk management experience in a regulated financial institution. Experience with banks supervised by the Federal Reserve; midsized bank experience preferred. Professional certifications like FRM, PRM, or CRCM are a plus. Compensation & Benefits The salary range is $174,000 - $275,000 annually, determined by experience and qualifications.
